A glut of blueberries, now what? Smoke them; you have smoked everything else. A little ascorbic acid, a brief crushing, and into the smoker they went, along with some more peanuts; I like smoked peanuts. An hour later, the blueberries emerged smoked, macerated, tannic, sweet, and just slightly thick. I was also working on the chocolate gnocchi; the two would be merged. A few thoughts later, and a malted rum milk would sauce the dish. The flavors married nicely; we have a new staple in our larder, and the gnocchi worked like a charm. Sometimes I get lucky. Next is a savory chocolate gnocchi or dumpling.
