Yesterday, I forgot to mention a very important step in the rice crispy process. After cutting up the treats and eating a few the first day, put the rest of them in a zip-top bag in the freezer. They will keep much longer that way. The treats will happily defrost during a meal and be ready in time for dessert. The other bonus is that frozen rice crispy treats are awesome. They are light and crisp, shattering against your teeth and then warming in your mouth to chewy deliciousness. Seriously, I almost like them better from the freezer. An added bonus is you get to eat all of the treats instead of letting them go stale on the counter. Win-Win.
