And we get a rest. It is strange not having a new group of guests followed by another and another. Actually, I am a bit out of sorts. We have gotten used to the continued work, so without guests for a few days, I am unsettled. In fact, part of the unsettled nature is the fact that one of our two full-time housekeepers has flaked, and one of our key waitstaff read the schedule wrong so that she planned a side job right when we will fill the whole guest house with a hunting party. So, even with a breath of air, we are scrambling to fill some upcoming staffing voids. Such is life.
Which leads me to the fix. Now that we actually have a moment to ourselves, we have called upon Russ and Daughters to ship our smoked salmon, bagel, and cream cheese fix. So while we have the time, we are going to eat large in God’s country. That said, if you need a fix, give them a call. The shipping will take some of the wind out of your sails, but at day’s end, it is well worth the financial effort. Picking up the phone and dialing is not that much effort.
