Smoked Cherry Butterscotch

We tasted a prototype run of a smoked maple cherry preserve from Eat This. It was delicious and, in their world, not right for retail. I happily bought the run. I knew we could put it to good work in Doughnutland. My first idea was to use it as a topping for our frozen custard. I mixed it with our butterscotch sauce. And smoked cherry butterscotch was born. And our custard experience became even better.
