Today we unveiled our Slushious. The name is ripped directly from the movie “Home.” Last Monday we went apple picking. When we finished the picking, we treated ourselves to frozen, slushy-style apple cider. I was smitten with the refreshing and smile-inducing experience of the frozen cider. I became a man on a mission. We needed to bring frozen cider to the doughnut shop. Thankfully, due to some good luck, good timing, and good friends, we were able to go from no slushy machine to slushy creators in a couple of days. As my plan came together, I had dreams of adding slushy cold brew to the menu. Unfortunately, in our current location, we are not able to serve coffee. In place of my coffee desires, we went with the initial inspiration and fall ringer. We loaded up our newly acquired granita machine with apple cider and concord grape juice. We served the frozen slushy juices on their own as well as upgraded, layered with frozen custard.
